Hostel Between San Fran And L A

Convert audio or video files (Flv, mp3 ,...) in Ubuntu Linux with Audacity and other conversion programs.

If you use Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (on the 9.04 too, I have checked personally ) and intend to do conversion between formats, either audio or video , you need to convert to ffmpeg famous. Some of the programs that use it are Audacity or Video Download Helper (extension for Firefox ), among many others. For reasons unknown to me, not working properly and you have to do the following steps:

going to Synaptic package manager .
In " quick search " write: libavformat 52 (if not exist as such, removes the 52 and will see that a very similar name).
uninstall, you will see is uninstalled many others, do not worry, it's normal.
After install: libavformat -extra-52 (or similar, it's extra important.)
Install: gstreamer 0.10- ffmpeg.
And finally: (if you have one) ffmpeg. Reboot

session and working!
